The technical data sheet of the NOWA 360 triangular sensor (NOWDSF300)

Specifications

The triangular sensors must :

  • be installed at a maximum distance of 50 feet from the control panel. If you need to install further away, a repeater will be needed for each additional 50 feet.
  • be on a flat surface for the water to touch the stainless-steel screws
  • have the perimeter cable connected in parallel to the detection screws, lay flat when the perimeter cable is connected. When new, perimeter cables may retain some shape memory from its packaged environment. Take the time to relax the cable to ensure it and the sensor are flat against the surface

Physical Dimensions

Width: 4.6”

Height: 4.3”

Depth: 1.2”

Power Specifications

Battery output: 3VDC 1500mAH

Battery type: CR123

How to dry the sensor?

NOWDSF300 - Triangular detector

Once the triangular detector detects water, you must dry it before you can reset the alarm. It is important to dry it quickly, since this detector is not submersible. If a lot of water accumulates inside the sensor, the battery and/or the circuit board may be damaged and render the sensor inoperative following its detection of water. It is recommended to open the triangular detector using a small flat screwdriver by applying leverage between the two plastic shells at the flattened top of the triangular shape. Once the detector is opened, it is recommended to dry the sensor with cloths. You can also use a blow dryer to remove any traces of moisture from the circuit board. It is important to use the dryer in moderation so as not to damage the circuit board due to the heat.

NOWDC010 - Perimeter detection cable

If the perimeter wire detects water, you must dry it before you can reset the alarm. To dry the perimeter cable, it is recommended to use a dry cloth and wipe it all along the twist part. A single drop of water present on the cable will prevent the alarm from being cancelled.

If the problem persists, it is recommended to check inside the connector between the twisted wire and the "lead wire" which allows to bring the detector to the desired location. In some cases, water gets inside the connector and create an alarm. It is also recommended to check the triangular detector where the cable is attached. If the triangle sensor detects water, it will also prevent the alarm from being cancelled. You can check the triangular detector datasheet for advice on drying it: NOWDSF300
